Mini Vaca Part 2

With two tours under our belt (and a lot of cheese and beer!) we headed to downtown Burlington. I love how Church street is shut down completely and cars aren’t allowed to drive down the middle. You can meander the streets and gaze at all of the cute shops and restaurants.

I found Lake Champlain Chocolates. Bad news bears.

I did nab something for when Lent is over. I can’t wait to dig into these babies:

Ginormous chocolate Easter bunny, anyone?

Dinner

After walking around for a bit, we found The Scuffer, a cozy little restaurant on Church street.

Because I hadn’t had enough beer already, we ordered a couple of pints. Mine was delish.

And because I hadn’t had enough cheese, I ordered this:

Probably the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. VT cheddar with a brie crust. I wanted to cry it was so good.

Oh, and I got a salad, too. But that’s not very exciting.

Chris got the fish and chips which were perfectly battered and fried and amazingly crunchy.

My stomach hurt from all that food, but what’s a trip to VT without a stop at B & J’s?! As I mentioned on Twitter, this was a hard one. Everything has chocolate! Hmmph. Luckily, coffee is one of my favorite flavors, so I went with a big ‘ole cup of that.

Breakfast

The next morning, after a super peaceful night’s sleep, we headed out on the road and looked for a place to grab some grub. Chris spotted the Big Picture Theater and Cafe, which I was a little skeptical about at first…a movie theater cafe? But, it was unbelievable. The burgers have even been on the Today show!

I got a homemade onion bagel toasted with cream cheese, smoked salmon, onion and capers and a huge side of home fries. The food took quite a long time to make, but it was more than worth it. I can’t wait to come back here and try their homemade mini donuts!

Needless to say I was stuffed after all of that cheese, beer, ice cream and mac and cheese. We headed home and said sayonara to Vermont. Can’t wait to go back!

What was your favorite trip?
