My. legs. are. jelly. Shaking, aching jelly. Isn’t that a pretty picture?
Since starting training for my first 5k, I haven’t been running close to 3 miles except once, which was at a comfortable, slooww pace. Being that the 5k is going to be here before I know it, I needed to up the ante.
I knew I needed to run 3 miles, but I didn’t want to fun the 21 laps around the track (boring), so I decided to hit the treadmill. I turned the volume up on my Ipod and started running.
1.5 miles in, I thought I was going to quit. I actually love using my music as a way to pass the time, but I couldn’t stand the sound of it when things were getting tough. Plus, I kept saying out loud, “You can do it!” Yeah, I definitely appeared sane, right?
By the time mile two rolled around, I knew I could finish it. Then, something crazy happened. I decided to speed things up. I don’t know what got into me, probably some thought like “Let’s get this over with!” So, I ran as fast as my little ol’ legs could take me and finished in under 30 minutes! I was psyched…oh and super sweaty.
P.S. That’s a Teen Vogue magazine on there. I definitely had slim pickings at the gym. I also didn’t even know this magazine still existed!?

After my sweaty self got home, I showered and made a massive quesadilla. The avocado I wanted to mash on top wasn’t ripe, so I had to stick with a mixture of dark kidney beans and reduced-fat cheddar. No worries, I’m a huge cheese lover through and through.

Excuse it’s appearance. It was definitely one big, tasty mess.
There’s still time to enter my giveaway. You’ll definitely want to get in on this one! Tweet about it and spread the word!

I always talk out loud to myself when I am getting really tired while running. It’s always something like, “you’re almost done!” or “keep going you can do it!” Glad to know I’m not alone.
Yes! I felt like I was a crazy, but it definitely helped!

Can I just say that I love hearing that someone else struggles with 3 miles?
It seems like everyone else in blog world runs marathons in their sleep and gets a “quick workout” of 9 miles in every morning.
