Season’s 52

Hi pretty people!

I hope you all are having a great week!

So, I just had to share one of the high points of my trip with you. No, it wasn’t on the cruise ship. No, it didn’t involve drinking out of a coconut (although that was awesome). I had just stepped off the plane!

When Chris and I arrived in Tampa, my dad picked us up and drove us to grab some lunch. I had no idea where he was taking us until we were almost at our destination: Season’s 52!

I’ve seen many a bloggie rave about this place, so I was pretty pumped when we wound up there.

I loved the decor. But of course, that’s not what their known for. The restaurant specializes in using fresh ingredients, natural cooking techniques, and all of the items are 475 calories or less. However, I could care less about that.

I wanted food in my belly, and I wanted it fast. (I get grumpy when I haven’t eaten in a few hours).

To start, I ordered a glass of riesling. If I’m gonna have white wine, it’s gotta be sweet!

Next, we split the ripe plum tomato flatbread. The crust is like a crispy, thin cracker and the toppings were light and fresh tasting. I could have easily eaten the whole thing by myself.

For my entree, I was craving fish. I saw someone with the lemongrass salmon salad when we walked in, and I was sold. The salad had organic field lettuce, cucumbers, toasted pistachios and cumin-lime vinaigrette.

Holy. moly. It. was. fan-freakin’-tastic.

I NEED to re-create the dressing. And the salmon. And probably the pistachios. Or…they should probably open up a Season’s 52 around Boston, huh?

Chris got a buffalo burger with avocado and spicy chili sour cream. I stole a bite. Buffalo is a little too game-y tasting for me, but the spicy chili sour cream was awesome.

My dad got the caramelized sea scallops served with roasted asparagus and tomato-mushroom pearl pasta. It was also delicious!

Last but certainly not least, was dessert! Mini indulgences, to be exact.

The waiter came over to present them to us, and I asked if I could just have the whole thing. He said it hadn’t been the first time! In fact, he said that a few nights before, he waited on two guys who each had a bottle of wine, a flat bread, an appetizer, an entree, and 15 desserts. My kind of people!

I chose the red velvet cake…which tasted JUST like a cupcake! I had my eye on the cookies n’ cream, though!

Chris got the peanut butter chocolate:

My dad got the key lime. It was definitely the winner.

They were devoured in about two seconds.

I need to get back to this place ASAP. If there’s one near you, GO! Just go for the fresh, flavorful food (and the desserts!) Don’t even worry about the calories ;)
