Today was like Christmas day.
Allie and I went to the grand opening of Wegmans in Northborough, MA. Yes, going to a grocery store made me the happiest girl on earth.
I know some of you go crazy over Whole Foods, and others for Trader Joe’s, but Wegmans is my spot.
Let me give you a little back ground.
1. There was a Wegmans in Ithaca, NY, where I went to college, which makes it hold a special place in my heart.
2. We would often go out on a Friday night, then on Saturday night, go for late-night drives/Wegs trips. I wish I could still do that!
3. They have the best customer service. Ever.
4. The food is insanely good. Especially the Wegman’s brand food! It’s even better than national brands.
5. They have a whole cafe section, which has hot bars for every person’s taste and their subs are crazy good.
It was packed. By packed I mean I got elbowed in the chest by a very rude woman, and people kept knocking into each other with their carts. This is the only grocery store I would brave this for.

Free samples were everywhere…if you could get past all of the people to nab one!
I can’t even take it when I walk past the baked goods.
After we wandered fought through the store, we sat down for lunch with a few subs and a homemade pretzel to split.
Before we sat down though, this happened:
Allie found Mr. Wegman himself. I will forever be jealous that I was in the parking lot at this moment.
After she told me about her celebrity story, I drowned my sorrows in carbs.
I now have a belly full of carbs, a fridge filled with Wegman’s food and now a Wegman’s I can go to whenever I feel like it driving an hour!
I’m a happy camper.

Woah woah WOAH! I went to Ithaca College, too – I just graduated from the musical theatre program in May. When people ask me what I miss most about Ithaca, I say Wegmans. Yeah yeah, the gorges, yeah the hippies everywhere, yeah my wonderful program and professors. But WEGMANS. Living in NYC, grocery shopping is a giant pain and all I want is Wegmans. Especially NOW – October in Wegmans is THE BEST. Candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins for miles.

I just got home a few minutes ago and saw the Wegmans grand opening brochure in my mailbox! After reading this post, I have to go check it out before I move again!

I’ve never been to a Wegmans, but I would love to! I am def a health store junkie no matter what the store is.
Looks like fun! My favorite grocery store has to be Whole Foods but Trader Joes is right behind it!

Omigosh, I’ve never heard of Wegmans before! Is it just an east coast thing? I do love TJs and Whole Foods but Bristol Farms will always be my favorite grocery store!!
Yes! It’s only on the East coast right now…hopefully that will change!
I’ve never been to Wegman’s but I totally understand your excitement about getting a new grocery store. I was ecstatic when a new WF opened near me this summer!
I just went to Wegman’s today! Love that store. It’s always really packed near me too, even on week days. I love their cafe stuff- everything is so good. We had one of their Caesar salads for dinner tonight- amazing.
