Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today, I woke up and completely forgot it was a holiday! It made me think of back in elementary school, when little holidays like today were a big deal. I always bounded out of bed, super excited for the festivities ahead. I remember days filled with cupcakes, candy and tons of cute presents from my mama. Any day filled with sweets is a good day in my book ;)

We didn’t celebrate too much at work today, and Chris and I already celebrated ourValentine’s day last night.

Our Saturday started with a long, sweaty workout at the gym. I recently renewed my membership at my work’s gym so I can incorporate more cardio in my workouts.

Since Chris is an alum, he showed me the ropes at the gym and I LOVE it!

We ran a little over at mile at the indoor track:

Run run run!

Then, I did 2 sets of 25 reps of:

  • Bicep curls
  • tricep extensions
  • squats
  • leg press
  • chest flies
  • inclined chest press
  • calf raises
  • hamstring curls
  • hamstring extension
  • deltoid lifts
  • crunches (medicine ball, jack knife, bicycles)

Phew! That was a lot! There was probably more, we were there for awhile. Needless to say, I was in the mood for some food:

Post-sweat grub

The gym was giving these mini Luna bars! The flavor was like a girl scout cookie, yum!

We walked in the freezing cold to City Sports and Eastern Mountain Sports to browse through the sale stuff…I wound up founding a bike that’s just my size:

Just for me!

Coffee was next. I had seen Tina drinking Marylou’s coffee on her blog (she’s in Boston, too!) and I knew I had to try it. They had tons of flavors. I got a Sugar Cookie coffee…mmmm!

Next up, dinner! We went to Fiorella’s in Newton. It’s seriously one of the BEST restaurants in the Boston area.

We started out with the arancini, which was a huge rice ball filled with Mozzarella cheese, fried and covered with tomato sauce

Then, I got pasta with chicken, mushrooms, garlic, tomato and basil sauce. Yum! Chris got homemade fusilli with bolognese and it was amazing. I was jealous.

Spicy Pasta

Then, we had some of the BEST peanut butter pie. Allie, I know you’re jealous, but I also know you’re probably eating it tonight. :)

Peanut Butter Heaven!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your night is filled with lots o’ love!
