Happy Hump Day!
It’s 37 degrees here in Boston, which is almost 40, which is almost warm! Of course my dad managed to crush my excitement by saying it’s been in the 80′s for the past week in Florida…sigh…
I started off today with the last bowl of my beloved Kix. I amped it up with a tbsp. of chia seeds, wheat germ and some walnuts.
As I was browsing some health sites last night, I came across an interview with Lauren Graham on Health.com. For those of you not familiar with her, Lauren is an actress who is most well known for her role on Gilmore Girls, which is definitely one of my favorite shows of all time. Those fast-talking, caffeine-addicted mother and daughter duo always made me laugh.
Lauren was interviewed about the confidence with her body and tips and tricks for living a healthy life. I really enjoyed the article and here are just some of the great tips I took away from it:
- “I expect now for the day to be imperfect in some way.” -Perfection isn’t always going to happen.
- Favorite healthy life advice: “Just keep moving. It’s a Buddhist saying, ‘There is no wasted effort.’” -It doesn’t matter what you do, but just get some sort of physical activity.
- “I’ve always thought my strengths are that I’m smart and I have a good sense of humor.”
- On plastic surgery: “I have an interest in looking good, but I have a fear of not looking like myself. I’ve had much more success than I ever thought not being iconic in the beauty sense, so maybe I’ll just continue to rest on my personality.”
I love how down to earth she seems to be. Plus, she has a really healthy way of looking at living a healthy, full life. Check out the rest of the article here.

My mom always tells me that “life isn’t a dress rehearsal” – meaning, we’ve only got once chance to do it right
I love it! Moms always have such wonderful advice to live by!
